The ELAS Fourth Annual Conference wil be


 


Special Educational Needs: At What Cost? 


 


This will be held on Thursday 25th September 2008 in the Barry Room of the Royal Institute of British Architects, 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD.

 

The event is dedicated to all the work and contirbutions to ELAS by the late, much missed Pat O'Leary.


The agenda is still to be finalised but we are delighted to announce that the event will be Chaired by Tanya Callman. Many members will know Tanya as the previous editor of EPLI. Currently she is working independently in the world of legal training and ‘updates’

 

So far we have secured, as presenters , Chris Beek, the National Director of SEN/LDD with the National Strategies. Mark Blois, Head of Education at Browne Jacobson and ELAS EC member.  Nick Hancox. Solicitor and ELAS treasurer, Neville Harris, Professor of Law. School of Law, University of Manchester.  Oliver Hyams, Barrister at Devereux Chambers  and Chairman of ELAS for the last two years and Phillipa Russell a commissioner for the Disability Rights Commission on Disability, Policy Adviser at the National Children’s Bureau an heads up a Standing Commission on Carers.
